First time we met

A day that felt like a quiet beginning to something unexpected. As we exchanged our first words, there was a subtle sense that this moment would linger far longer than we could have imagined.

June 22, 2024

We fell in love with each other

The world seemed to pause and everything felt effortlessly right. That day, our connection deepened, and with it, a certainty that we were exactly where we were meant to be.

March 27, 2025

He asked…? She said Yes!

In the heart of Istanbul, despite the kilometers that had kept us apart, we chose that moment to bridge the distance and say yes to forever.

Jason and I first met in 2008 during WP hockey trials and although I was not focused on anyone else at the time, once teams were announced and we’d both made it on the team, his very outgoing personality was hard to miss.

From there, we became close and built a long-standing friendship. We’ve been friends for 18 years now and even though we’ve both changed a lot over time, our friendship has not and remains as solid as the day it started.

Monique

I’ve known the bride my whole life — she’s not only my sister, but also someone I’ve looked up to for the last 22 years, despite our 10-year age gap. From travelling abroad together to sharing so many special memories, she has always been my guide, my biggest supporter, and a constant source of love and laughter in my life.

Jason and I met about 3 years ago when we were both going through a very tough and decided to start our gym journey together and from that day, our friendship grew. I treasure Jason for who he is as a person, and it has been great to see how much he has grown since we’ve met. Jason was also my hockey coach at a stage and now we are playing in the same team. All in all, Jason is a great guy, and I really appreciate him and it makes me happy to see that Lauren brings out the best in him. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

Lauren and I met while both doing our teaching practical and then it was a happy coincidence that we both were studying education at Stellenbosch University in 2018. It was a complete fluke and immensely lucky for both of us as we would develop a strong friendship while going through the trials of studies. This friendship has outgrown university and young adulthood morphing into a comforting and caring friendship that has seen us both through many ups and downs. I am immensely grateful for that by chance meeting 8 years ago. And I’m excited to share in this beautiful moment of her life!

Richard

Jason and I met when we were about 15, two hockey kids from the northern suburbs — love at first sight, you could say.

Ours is the kind of friendship that doesn’t need constant attention, but when it matters, he’s there no questions asked.

It’s the kind of bond that carries through every phase of life, through all the good and all the bad.

We’ve been through it all together — my OG, my ride or die.

Maryke

I met Lauren in my first year of teaching at Curro Durbanville High School in 2022. She was my Grade Head and soon became like an older sister to me, helping me adjust and guiding me through my first year of teaching. Her kindness and encouragement gave me confidence during a challenging time, and I will forever be grateful for the role she has played in my life.

Lance

There are so many stories to tell about Jason, but let’s keep it PG. We met at a festival called sizzled. He was DJing and during his set, me and the friend that was with me said “there’s that legend (Kilopascal) playing!” We knew it was him because the music was so good. I can’t remember if we spoke after his set or not, but I’m not going to go in depth because I can’t remember anything. Unfortunately, I have the memory of a goldfish! But I believe that was the day we met back in 2016 and ever since that day, we’ve been friends.

Megan

I got to know Lauren through my brother, and over time it’s been good getting to know her. It’s been nice seeing how well they get along and the positive dynamic they have together. She’s settled into the family well and has become a familiar and welcome presence around us.
